Multiplication Boot Camp
If your learner can count to 100, they can multiply! By the end of class, learners will be able to complete two digit multiplication, whether or not they have multiplication tables memorized!
Wednesday, February 4
10:30 am to 12:30 pm
Aurora Central Library
Small Community Room
14949 E Alameda Pkwy
Learners will be taught how to use a multiplication table and receive a fun and colorful multiplication table to take home with them.
Tips and tricks (mental heuristics) will be taught for figuring out difficult numbers (ie 9's, 11's, 12's).
Memorization drills will be coupled with movement and song to engage deeper learning (and have more fun!)
There will be no writing in this class. The goal is for learners to recall the information mentally, enhancing comprehension.
Juice boxes and rainbow goldfish crackers will be served. Goldfish crackers are a great math learning tool!
Grownups are free to wander the library, participate in the class, or sit in the back of the room (hopefully with a good book!) as long as you stay on the premises with your cell phone.
Dr. Laura DePierre is a psychologist, statistician, social scientist, and homeschool mom with a focus on STEAM and a passion for instilling a love of lifelong learning in children - and their grownups!
Awaken your learner’s love of math with this multi sensory, active, and fun class!
Recommended donation of $20 per family for this class.
Space is limited, so register early!
